August 1, 2022 – Miles for Marybeth, a 38-mile bicycle ride will start on August 6 at 7:00 a.m. at Triangle Park in Haven, Pennsylvania. Supporters of those whose lives have been touched by Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) will participate in this event, to mark the first ARDS Awareness Day (August 8).

Marybeth Monaghen, the inspiration for this event, was just 36 years old when she passed away from ARDS. She was the eldest of four children, a nurse, a daughter and a beloved sister.

The ride will be led by two people whose lives have been deeply affected by ARDS: Risk Bressler and Paula Monaghen Blonski. Rick is a survivor of ARDS, CoVID-19, and a double lung transplant, who is committed to showing that xxx a good life to be lived post-transplant. Paula, President of the ARDS Alliance, is Marybeth’s loving sister who is committed to increasing awareness for ARDS, and help others affected by ARDS.
