In Memoriam
Andrew Tod Thompson, passed away due to ARDS complications on November 23, 2022. The ATTM Foundation was established in his memory to continue his legacy and spread awareness of ARDS.
Andrew Tod Thompson was born on May 20, 1999 to Pauline Babin and Tod Thompson. Andrew’s life was marked by his unwavering respect, kindness, and a radiant smile that endeared him to many. He was a passionate sports enthusiast, particularly of baseball and his beloved LSU Fighting Tigers. He pursued studies at South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) with aspirations of becoming a realtor. Andrew’s deep-rooted faith and commitment to family were evident to all who knew him; he was generous, loving, and consistently sought to bring joy to those around him.
In late November 2022, Andrew contracted the flu, which rapidly progressed despite multiple medical consultations. On November 23, he visited an urgent care facility and was diagnosed with the flu. His condition deteriorated over the following days. Subsequent visits to different urgent care centers and a hospital resulted in diagnoses of anxiety, with treatments that did not alleviate his worsening symptoms.
Tragically, on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the age of 23, Andrew passed away from ARDS, leaving a profound impact on his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

This program directly goes to our mission to improve the quality of life for ALL those affected by ARDS. We hope that these grants will help, in a small way to minimize the financial stress associated with the loss of a loved one from ARDS in the last 12 months.
